Smoking a bowl of weed is a cliché way of consuming marijuana.
A Checklist of Things You Need to Pack and Smoke a Bowl of Weed:
To smoke a bowl of weed, you will need:
- Cannabis
- A grinder (optional, but recommended)
- A lighter or heating element
– An implement such as a pipe or bong with a bowl.
What is a Bowl?
A bowl signifies the curvy part of a bong or pipe that contains the cannabis. A tiny hole at the bottom lets smoke pass through the pipe or a bong and into your lungs. Creative activities to enjoy while high can enhance your experience and make using different methods like bowls or bongs more enjoyable. Bowls on hand pipes are nearly always equipped with a carb hole, which helps to control the flow of air, cover it during the lighting up and open it to bring the breath in. Carb holes aren’t typical for most bongs. Rather than this, you simply pull the bowl out of the downstem to clear out the chamber.
Basket and Smoking a Bowl
Step 1: Grind the Weed
Grind your cannabis for even burning. A grinder is perfect, but if you don’t have one, chop up the buds into small, even pieces with scissors or your hands.
Step 2: Pack the Bowl
Put a pinch of ground cannabis carefully into the bowl. Don’t overpack it; the bottom hole should remain clear for proper air flow. Use your finger or the flat end of a lighter to faintly press it down.
Step 3: Smoke
- With a Pipe: Take the carb and place it in one hand and cover the carb hole. Put the mouthpiece into your mouth and set on fire a corner of the bowl. Inhale slowly with the carb covered. Let out the carb for a full inhale.
- With a Bong: Put your lips inside the mouthpiece and ignite the bowl. Inhale gently. When you are ready, pull the bowl from the downstem (or release the carb if present) to clear the chamber.
Step 4: Ash the Bowl
After the cannabis is completely burnt do dump out the ash to have a clean bowl for the next time. A clean bowl will promote better taste and airflow.
Lighting Your Bowl
Most users rely on a butane lighter, whereas options such as hemp wick produce a cleaner burn and a better taste. Matches can be used, but will leave a sulfur aftertaste.
Advanced Tips
- Cherried Bowls: When a bowl lights and glows like a coal after you inhale, it is “cherried”. If you are sharing, pass it quickly to avoid wastage of smoke.
- Cornering the Bowl: When smoking with other people, light only part of the bowl; everyone gets a fresh “green hit”. Holding the flame to the edge and taking a slow breath in.
- Putting Out a Bowl: To put out a bowl, cover up the pipe’s holes and cup the bowl with one’s hand. It’s also possible, though may add more ash, to gently press it down with a lighter’s bottom.
